Amy Rahn PhD
Assistant Professor of Art History at University of Maine at Augusta and Director of the Charles Danforth Gallery, Dr. Rahn has written extensively on modern & contemporary visual art; her research interests include women artists, feminisms, and friendship among women artists. Her many essays and reviews have appeared in a variety of books, art magazines, exhibition catalogs and newspapers. Dr. Rahn wrote the first English language dissertation on Joan Mitchell and authored an essay for the Joan Mitchell retrospective exhibition catalogue (Yale University Press, 2021). Originally hailing from Oklahoma, she attended Albion College (BA) in Michigan and completed a PhD in Art History and Criticism at SUNY Stony Brook in New York.
